Director JEN, CHIEN-CHENG

JEN, CHIEN-CHENG

β€œJen, a shy boy who grew up in a noodle shop and was once on education support, served in the military at Taichung Ching-Chuan-Kang Air Force Base. He was shocked by 3300 volts once and is still waiting for his superpowers to emerge…” Despite his humble beginnings, Jen graduated from the Theatre Department of Taipei National University of the Arts in 1990 and continued his studies at the third-largest university in France in 1993. In 2018, he graduated from the overseas program at the National Taiwan University-Fudan EMBA.

Jen graduated from the Theatre Department of Taipei National University of the Arts in 1990 and continued his studies at the UniversitΓ© Paris III in France in 1993. In 2018, he graduated from the overseas program at the National Taiwan University-Fudan EMBA. Jen's passion for children's theater has kept him in the industry for over 30 years, and he is one of the founding members of Paperwindmill.

Upholding the founding spirit of "wind at our backs, future ahead," Jen has taken on various roles in administration, production, direction, planning, acting, and stage design. Between 2006 and 2011, Ren supported the "319 Township Children's Art Project" and continues to work on initiatives such as "368 Townships Children's Art," "Anti-Drugs for Teens Theatre," and "Countryside Arts Truck." Recognizing that children's growth outpaces the promotion of arts, Jen plans to schedule more than 200 countryside performances per year to help Taiwanese children take their first steps into the world of art with creativity, aesthetics, love, and care.
